Sleeping rough to end Scotland’s homelessness

We have proudly raised over £6,700 for Social Bite's Sleep in the Park, the world's largest ever sleep out.

Our team of ten were joined by 9,000 others, including Sir Bob Geldolf, who spent the evening in replicated circumstances similar to those homeless people experience every night.

With the money raised, Social Bite aims to eradicate homelessness over a 5 year period by providing people with housing, rehabilitation, job opportunities and the support they need to get back on their feet.

The fundraising event included busking performances by Liam Gallacher and Deacon Blue, while John Cleese read everyone a bedtime story.

Shelley Hutton, Business Support Manager

"Social Bite's Sleep in the Park was a great opportunity to raise money and awareness to help end homelessness in Scotland and it was a challenge that we were glad to embrace, given Castle Rock Edinvar's roots. It was humbling to get a small insight into what people who don't have a safe place to stay experience on a daily basis.

"Seeing Liam Gallacher and John Cleese perform was a bonus, but the real high of the evening was seeing how close we became as a team, supporting each other when fingers went numb."
