Paying your rent

It is your responsibility to pay your rent, even if you are claiming housing benefit, or the housing element of Universal Credit. Your tenancy agreement and the annual rent review letter we send you sets out what rent you are charged.

Rent is our main source of income. We use this money to carry out repairs and improvements to the homes we manage, and to provide a good quality service.

Direct Debit

The easiest way to pay is by Direct Debit. Once you're set up, payments will come out of your bank account automatically.

Just call our Income Collection team during office hours on 0131 657 0600 and we'll set it up for you.

Payments can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly on any weekday or any date. From April 2018 payments can be made 4-weekly on a Tuesday or Friday.

There are no charges to set up a Direct Debit and you are guaranteed a refund from your bank or building society in the unlikely event that an incorrect payment is taken. Please note that a Direct Debit must be set up or amended at least one week before the payment is due.
